Dear reader I just finished reading “Alex and Eliza” by Melissa De La Cruz. I picked up a hardcover copy of the book from BarnesandNoble.com because it seemed interesting and I have enjoyed a lot of other fictional books set in the same time period. My personal review of the book is as follows:
I loved the “shade”/sarcastic one liners in the beginning of the book (When Alex and Eliza first meet). One of my favorite lines in the book is when on page 208(in my hardcover edition) “Eliza” tells “Alex” “You take too many liberties, just like our Congress against the British.”
Even with all of flirty bantering back and forth between them I personally didn’t really fully see the “spark” between them as characters until page 210 when you as the reader finally(in my personal opinion) get to see a deeper understanding of what “Eliza” loves about “Alex” as a person as well as a deeper understanding what a relationship with him would bring to her from an especially emotional point of view(Her believe that he would nurture her mind and value her points of view I paraphrased a bit).
I really enjoyed how the sisters each held their own strong personality and sense of self. I personally rate this book a 7 and half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books as well as helping others find my reviews ♡.
