Dear reader I just finished reading “Reign of Shadows” book number 1 in the “Reign of Shadows” series by Sophie Jordan. I picked up a hardcover copy of the book when it was on sale on Bookoutlet.com  because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Warning this review will contain at least one spoiler so please read at your own risk if you haven’t already finished reading it yet.

For me personally it was really cool to see a story about a strong(in my personal opinion) realistic, female character who also happens to have a disability(she is completely blind) I really loved the fact that her disability didn’t define who she was as a person. I have Cerebral Palsy(CP) and because of that/how it effects me I have to use a wheelchair however I always try my hardest to never let my disability define who I am as a person.

I really enjoyed the setting/mythology of the world(Even though I am still trying to figure out some details about how the world works). I really liked the romantic aspects of book, especially how “Fowler” was full of flaws/shades of gray while still being chivalrous at the same time. My heart melted at the scene with the rock and the fireflies 😍 the scene on page 190 (in my hardcover copy) in the tree when she tells “Fowler” that they are friends and he tells her “I know”. 😍

I think that if you are a fan of the CW TV show Reign you’re probably going to love this book as well. The ending of the book had me on the edge of my seat so to speak and holding my breath I can’t wait to read the next book in the series I will be downloading it onto my tablet as soon as I’ve finished posting this review.

Overall I personally rate this book an 8 and a half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by Netgally and other places for future books ♡.
