Dear reader I just finished “The Gunslinger” book number one in the “Dark Tower” series by Stephen King. I picked up the Nook store on my tablet because I wanted to see how I like the book/series before I see the movie based on it. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I want to start this review off by saying that this is the first book by Stephen King that I’ve read, I don’t normally read horror/”scarier” books which has been my personal opinion of the the Stephen King books that I’ve seen.

I didn’t really understand the writing style of this book, it seemed to jump around in terms of what the main character or doing or whomever he was talking to. The setting and the characters were interesting enough to me to keep me turning pages.

I had to go back and reread pages from the start of the middle half of the book and I was still confused until the last half of the book (excluding the very least part of the book). I liked the characters and world building however I personally believe that this storyline/series will go over my head so to speak. Knowing that I’m more excited about seeing the movie so that I can understand things better. Overall I personally rate this book a 4 and half out of 10 based on how much I liked the characters and world building. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get considered by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews ♡.
