Dear reader I just finished reading “Warm Bodies” by Isaac Marion. I picked up a soft-cover copy of the book from bookoutlet.com (I paid for it myself) because I love the movie version of it and I wanted see how the book differented and because I saw on Goodreads that a 2nd book is out and I wanted to be caught up with everything before I read it.

My personal review of the book is as follows:

I loved the writing style of the book(even if to be completely honest some things went over my head) I felt like I was right there in the world with the characters; Sometimes I felt like (in my personal opinion) there were some continuity issues(having to do with timing, I.E. when the story was taking place, and for lack of a better word for it how the “magic” of the world affected the zombies[how/why they did certain things]) that would take me out of the story for a minute, the characters did a great job of pulling me back in.

Around page 160 the storyline started to make sense to me personally again after being confusing because of plot/perspective changes. I also became a little bit frustrated by the pacing of the last half of the book.

I feel like the scene with “R” “Julie” and “Pery’s” handmade book was really beautiful and summed up nicely (in my personal opinion) the hope/promise of humanity/life as a whole. Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by Netgally and other places for future books ♡
