Note to reader: The following post will be different from my other book reviews due to the fact that this post will have 3 mini reviews of 3 books that I’ve read recently but because of how I personally felt about the book(s) I don’t feel comfortable with doing a full review of them.
I did a poll on my Twitter(@BookNerd0486 if you want to say hi to me that way) asking if my followers from there wanted me to do it and someone voted yes so I thought I’d give it a try. My book reviews will be done in my normal format in the future unless another situation like this comes up and you guys like the formatting of this mini review please like the post or tweet me on Twitter to let me that you like the formatting and or want more of these in the future.
As always my opinions on this post are honest and ONLY refer to my own personal experiences/feelings about the book(s).
1. “To Rise Again at a Decent Hour” by Joshua Ferris:
I picked up a soft-cover copy of the book from bookoutlet.com (I paid for it myself) because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:
The writing, storyline, and main character seemed interesting until about half way through the book then in my personal opinion the plot just fell apart. I personally feel like this is a “male mid-life crisis” story. I think that I probably personally would have enjoyed it more if I was a guy. Overall I personally rate this book a
3 and half out of 10 because of how much I liked most of the characters.
2. Gemina” book number 2 in the “Illuminae Files” series by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff.
I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know what happens next in the series (if you’ve read my review of the first book in the series then you’ll know how much I liked the characters from the first one) my personal review of the book is as follows:
I didn’t like the book at all, the two stars are for the concept and characters. I can’t really explain why without giving away plot points I will not be reading the final book. Spoilers ahead so read at your own risk if you aren’t up to date with the series yet or haven’t finished reading it yet: I really missed the main characters from the first book.
3. The girl with ghost eyes” by M.H. Boroson My uncle Timmy gave me me a paperback copy of the book. My personal review of the book is as follows:
I was interested in the storyline and characters however the way that the fight scenes were done pulled me out of the storyline and confused me. Overall I personally rate this book a 4 and half out of 10 based on how much I liked the characters.
Well that’s all of mini reviews I have for right now. Thanks again for your support dear reader it means more than I can ever truly explain or thank you for ❤.
